Gayaneh Kumar
Gayaneh Kumar is an accomplished violin teacher and educator. She holds the ability to achieve excellence in music education and successes of her students. She graduated from Komitas State Conservatory of Armenia, M.M., where she studied with celebrated professor K. Dombaev. Other notable musicians and teachers who have had a major influence in Mrs. Kumar’s education have included N. Pogosov, Zinaida Gilels and others. Mrs. Kumar has over fourty years of teaching experience.
In 1976 she was invited to teach violin at the Tchaikovsky Special School of Music for gifted students, and at the same year she started working as a violinist with the Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and later with the Armenian Chamber Orchestra.
After coming to United States in1991, Mrs. Kumar became very active as a private violin instructor. From 1992 she became an active member of Music Teachers Association of California Glendale Branch, and for many years she is serving on the Board of Directors, she is also member of American String Teachers Association, and was a member of SMAC/LA. From 1999-2001 Mrs. Kumar served as an Adjunct faculty member at the Azusa Pacific University School of Music, teaching violin, viola and string technique courses. From 2012-2019 she served as a faculty member at Moscow music center in Arcadia.

Many of her students in Armenia and U.S. have received acclaim at numerous festivals, local and international competitions, including New York’s Summit Music Festival’s Concerto Competition, Bronislaw Kaper Award for Young Artists Competition, Discovery Artist, Music Center Spotlight Award, International Young Artist Peninsula Music Festival, MTAC VOCE Competition, ASTA Competition, Southwestern Youth Music Festival, Satori string contest, Chinese American Youth musicians competition, Southern California Junior Bach Festival, Antelope Valley Bach Competition, Youth Encouragement Award Competition, Armenian Allied Arts Association Competition, American Protege music competition, Concert Artist International, American Fine Arts Festival and Lansum International Competition.
Mrs. Kumar possesses the quality of helping her students to achieve their upmost potential as violinists and musicians. Many of her students were accepted to prestigious Music Institutes as: Komitas State Conservatory in Armenia, University of Texas at Austin, Hillsdale College in Michigan, Cleveland Institute of Music, Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, and Juilliard School of Music in New York, University of Southern California, and University of California, Los Angeles.

My Mission
To cultivate musical excellence through individualized violin instruction, guiding each student to grow as a skilled performer and a thoughtful, well-rounded individual while fostering a lifelong appreciation of music in learners of all ages.
Studio Policy
Lesson Schedule
• Standard lessons are held once per week.
• For beginning students, it is recommended to schedule two 30-minute lessons per week, subject to availability.
Tuition and Payment
• Tuition is calculated based on the number of scheduled lessons in the month.
• Payment is due on the first lesson of each month.

Missed Lessons and Make-Up Policy
• If a student must miss a lesson, a minimum of 24-hour notice is required in order to receive a make-up lesson or credit.

General Expectations
• Consistent practice and parent support (for young learners) are essential for progress and enjoyment.
​
​Performance opportunities include recitals, festivals, competitions, and CM testing though the MTAC Glendale Branch.
